The Re-usable Shop

Introduction | History | Mission | Employees | Location | Hours of Operation | What Can be Recycled? | The Re-usable Shop | The Truth about Recycling | How Can I Make a Difference?

View of Re-usable Shop:

The Nelson Recycle reuse shops and yard.

The building and opening of a second shop on the same complex has grown well over this last year, The new shop or front shop has the high end goods, cloths, antiques, collectables, the list goes on.

"The Recycling Centre has proven a point to me", "there is cash in rubbish."  Not only is there financial value in trash for the Recycling Centre, City Council, and Environmental Centre, but value for future generations. Re-using is a rather inexpensive concept in promoting a healthy earth.

Unfortunately, there are very limited markets for recycling in Nelson and for the few items that are not currently recycled; the transport costs are too dear.  In order to subsidise the current costs of recycling in Nelson, the Re-usable Shop sells a cornucopia of items to the public that would have otherwise been dumped in the York Valley Landfill.

Re-usable Shop entrance and drop-off:

By purchasing items at the Re-usable Shope you are not only supporting local community and environmental groups, but you are making a tangible difference for future generations by saving old treasures from a dry, prolonged death-by-Landfill.

The daily operation and sales from the Re-usable Shop allows the Recycling service to be continued, pay employees, and fund environmental and community projects.  Items in the shop range from furniture, cutlery, radios, bicycles, clothes, books, magazines, toys, luggage, office equipment, tools, and much more.  Peruse the isles, dance, interact, and allow future generations to experience nature's abundant wealth.
